Start-up.ro, 2021: 2020 as a stress test, 50 new clients and 150 engineers

§2020, a stress test

At the same time, a growing emphasis on the professional development of the team and on adopting emerging technologies, integrated into Tremend’s solutions. Behind the growth: the team’s research and development of digital transformation solutions, which helped companies get through the impact of the pandemic more easily.

§50 new clients and four directions

The 50 new clients came from Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium, Israel and Romania, from retail, finance, insurance and technology. Goals for 2021: consolidate in the US, the UK and Benelux, and grow the number of clients through the partnerships with Mastercard, Salesforce and Microsoft. Four strategic directions for the digitalisation projects: financial services, services for the European Commission, technology and retail. Continued investment in Tremend’s own products in financial services and eLearning, and in AI, machine learning, cloud, natural language processing and UI/UX.

§Benelux and 150 engineers

Goals for Benelux: double the clients there, from 11, and grow the projects with the European Commission and other European institutions, after the Luxembourg office announced at the start of the year (Revista Biz, January 2021). The team, working fully remotely, would recruit 150 software engineers in 2021, in Java, Python, PHP, Angular, React, C++, Android, iOS and QA, as well as project managers and business analysts. After building up the Brașov office to 40 specialists, Tremend planned a Benelux team of up to 25 new colleagues.
